The Monkees made their TV debut in September 1966, and then topped the charts with "Last Train to Clarksville" and "I'm A Believer." Ed Sullivan showcased over 100 different artists. The Star Trek series debuted and
How the Grinch Stole Christmas made it's holiday debut too.

News Events:
The Beatles played their last concert tour date in San Francisco's Candlestick Park in August.

  1. Are you sure it wasn't Revolver & not Rubber Soul that was on the charts in late '66? If my memory serves me correctly the latter was released a year earlier.
