The Pogues Remastered by Rhino

The Pogues' music combined the youthful spirit of punk with ancient Celtic melodies to create a sublime racket that's been described as the Sex Pistols setting fire to The Chieftains. That's according to the Rhino Records press release. eCard

Red Roses For Me...This 1984 release debuted The Pogues' forceful, poetic, and darkly romantic sound. Features "Transmetropolitan," "Streams Of Whiskey," and "Down In The Ground."

Six rare bonus tracks include essential Pogues versions of "Muirshin Durkin" and the classic Dubliners foot-stomper "The Wild Rover."

An expanded booklet contains complete lyrics, intro essay by filmmaker Jim Jarmusch, and liner notes by Gavin Martin.




One of Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, 1985's 'Rum, Sodomy & The Lash' was produced by Elvis Costello and features "I'm A Man You Don't Meet Every Day" and "A Pair Of Brown Eyes."

Six rare bonus tracks include "A Pistol For Paddy Garcia," "London Girl," and "The Parting Glass."

1989's Steve Lillywhite-produced 'Peace & Love' marked the other band members' coming to the musical fore. Features the standouts "Gridlock," "White City," and the band's first CD single, "Misty Morning, Albert Bridge."
