The Who : Onstage & Online

Dave at classicrock.about.com and Jeff at imaginechoes.blogspot.com were quick to spread the news...Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend have written new music for a new album, and The Who will tour the world...the official announcement came from a press conference in Berlin last week.

www.thewhotour.com has all the official news, tour dates and information

The Band: Original members Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey, Pete's brother Simon Townshend on guitar, John "Rabbit" Bundrick on keyboards, Pino Palladino on bass, and Zak Starkey on drums.

I simply have to mention the Who's former rhythm section here. It just doesn't seem right to talk about The Who and not mention them by name...John Entwistle 1944 - 2002 & Keith Moon 1946 - 1978.

The Tour: It's their first world tour in more than 20 years...the band is currently gigging in Europe with smashing reviews...then on to the US, Canada, South America, Asia and Australia.
The Casbah Club will be supporting The Who on many of these shows.

Tickets went on sale to the general public Monday for some shows...fan club members had access to ticket sales all weekend online at tickets.thewhotour.com. That's the band's new website, for all things Who. Also new...InTheAttic is podcasting each show on Who LiveTV.

The New Album: Their first studio album since 1982...titled "Who2" and will be released this October. "Wire and Glass", Townshend's mini opera, was just released.

I just got their DVD earlier this year...The Who: Tommy And Quadrophenia Live With Special Guests...three discs total seven hours of video from the '89 and 96'-'97 tours.
