Rush 30th Anniversary

Years ago, my younger brother David (CyberCoder) recommended I go see Rush in concert, because they had this awesome drummer. Being a drummer myself, I had to go check it out. And I was totally blown away! This is one of the few times that he turned me on to a band. That was usually my job. Well, I've been a big fan ever since, so I just had to tell you about this...

The Canadian rock trio celebrates their 30th anniversary with the release of "R30" a compilation of two CDs and two DVDs. It contains footage from the band's earliest performances, five full-length interviews (including the 1994 Juno Awards ceremony to induct the band into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame,) and a booklet of vintage photos.

The concert DVD was filmed last year in Frankfurt, Germany, where the band flashes back to earlier days with tracks like "Between the Wheels" and "Force Ten." It's unusual to hear Rush do a "cover song," but what could be better than to hear them do The Who's "The Seeker" and The Yardbirds "Heart Full Of Soul." Plus rock classics "Crossroads" and "Summertime Blues!"
