The original American Idol, Kelly Clarkson has signed a deal to represent NASCAR during the 2007 season. She will be headlining the Nextel Tribute to America concert before the Daytona 500 on February 18th.
Clarkson will also be the official spokesperson for the fourth annual NASCAR Day on May 18th. Race fans are encouraged to make a five dollar charitable donation to the NASCAR Foundation in exchange for a commemorative lapel pin.
The NASCAR season concludes on December 3rd, when Clarkson performs at the Nextel Cup Champions Banquet in New York.
