10 Days Out Blues from the Backroads

Kenny Wayne Shepherd is joined by longtime collaborator and vocalist Noah Hunt, and Double Trouble's rhythm section, Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon, as they seek out some of America's best known authentic blues artists in their own backyards.

During their ten day journey, they jammed and recorded with B.B. King, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, Honeyboy Edwards and the remaining members of Howlin' Wolf and Muddy Waters' bands.

They took along a film crew, a portable recording studio and producer Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads) and put together this incredible documentary...10 Days Out, Blues from the Backroads. The DVD culminates with a once in a lifetime performance at the Church at Blue Heaven Studios in Salina, Kansas. The goal was to produce intimate recordings in native settings to keep it authentic. Going back to the roots of rock and roll, and where the blues were born and raised.
“What happened is what you hear,” says Shepherd, “We kept it as real as possible.”
Kenny Wayne Shepherd's new release Ten Days Out (Blues from the Backroads) will be released January 23rd on DVD and live CD, from Warner Brothers & Reprise Records.
