Recently Released & Highly Recommended

Recently Released & Highly Recommended, all the following CD & DVD titles were released November 14th. These are a few of our favorites...

Joan Osborne "Pretty Little Stranger" CD
Pretty Little Stranger is the Vanguard debut from premier vocalist and songwriter Joan Osborne. Recorded in Nashville and produced by Grammy winner Steve Buckingham, Pretty Little Stranger highlights the soulful sound of Joan Osborne with elements of country, blues and Americana. This 12 song collection features six original tunes written by Joan including ''Who Divided,'' ''Shake That Devil'', ''After Jane'' and the title track, and also compositions by Kris Kristofferson (''Please Don't Tell Me How The Story Ends.'') Some of music's finest performers lending their talents including Vince Gill on ''Time Won't Tell,'' Alison Krauss, ''Holy Waters'', Sonny Landreth playing slide guitar on ''Dead Roses'' and Rodney Crowell providing harmony vocals on his own 'When The Blue Hour Comes.''

Staind "Singles 1996-2006" CD
Over 10 years, Staind have produced 4 platinum albums, had numerous Top 10 and #1 songs at both the Rock and Pop formats and have sold in excess of 12,000,000 units. Now, for the first time, all of those hits are being put together in 1 package! To add to the excitement, Staind did a special all acoustic show in early September, 2006. From this concert, they are contributing 4 never-before released songs: the current Pop and Rock hit, ''Everything Changes,'' plus covers by Tool, Alice in Chains and Pink Floyd. Also, as a bonus, a song from their indie-only 1996 debut, ''Come Again'' has been updated and remixed for this release. Finally, the worldwide
smash ''Outside,'' which rocketed the band to fame in 1999, is included here: the first time ever on a Staind album. CD World Pick!

Asleep At The Wheel "Live From Austin Texas" DVD
Since its infectious 1974 debut, the country band Asleep at the Wheel has remained steadfast in its devotion to the music of Bob Wills and other western-swing greats of the past. Renowned as a killer live act, Asleep at the Wheel is captured live in this 1992 appearance on PBS's Austin City Limits, which has been expanded from it's televised half-hour episode to include all 90 minutes of the band's performance, including signature songs like "Miles and Miles of Texas," "Corine Corina," and "Blues for Dixie." Plus my personal favorite "Hot Rod Lincoln." (Mike)

Best Of The Jammys Vol. 1 DVD
The Jammys celebrate the best in live, improvisational music. Founded in 2000 as an alternative to mainstream award shows, the event has become the premier grassroots music event in the country. The best way to illustrate the power of live music is to bring together a diversity of musicians who may have never before performed together. Performers include: Richie Havens, The Mutaytor, String Cheese Incident, Perry Farrell, Buddy Guy, Phil Lesh, John Mayer, Questlove, North Mississippi Allstars, Kris Myers, Blue Oyster Cult, The Benevento-Russo Duo, Les Claypool, Mike Gordon, Gabby LaLa, Phil Lesh, The Disco Biscuits, Travis Tritt, Peter Frampton, Guster, and Ryan Adams.

Paul McCartney "The Space Within Us" DVD
Using 25 hi-definition cameras and 5.1 digital surround sound, Paul McCartney: The Space Within Us captures Macca's sold out 2005 U.S. tour on DVD. Better than a front row seat, this feature-length concert film takes viewers onto the stage and beyond, capturing Paul’s out of this world performance, which was beamed to the astronauts aboard the Mir space station who woke up to some "English Tea" with Paul and the band through a live feed from the Anaheim, CA performance. The set list is filled with nearly 30 classic Beatles and solo career hits plus standout tracks from his latest CD.

Staind "The Videos" DVD
Over 10 years, Staind have produced 4 platinum albums, had numerous Top 10 & #1 songs & have sold in excess of 12,000,000 units. Now, for the first time, all their hit videos are together on one DVD! This will coincide with their Greatest Hits CD. Besides the hit videos like ''It’s Been Awhile,'' ''Mudshovel'' and ''Right Here,'' there are many hard-to-find Staind videos: the worldwide smash, ''Outside'', which rocketed the band to fame in 1999, has not been commercially available for four years. Their first-ever video, ''Just Go'', available for the first time, has not been seen since a short viewing on MTV Headbangers Ball in 1998. ''Epiphany'', never released to video outlets in the US, is also included. CD World Pick!

Let me be the first to say that the Staind CD is fantastic! I downloaded it yesterday off iTunes and can't stop listening to it in the car and on the iPod. A definite buy for anyone who likes deep new metal!
