Autobiography and label history :

This is a great anthology of the Elektra Records label as it evolved with the times, from folk to folk-rock and eventually embracing electric rock artists like The Doors.

"Forever Changing" showcases important folk artists like Judy Collins, Phil Ochs and Tim Buckley. After Dylan's electric performance at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965, Elektra plugged into the current by signing the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, The Doors, and Love. As the 60's came to a close, Elektra released debut albums by Mc5, the Stooges, and Queen. But the label never lost sight of the folk music scene, and over the years became home to singer songwriters like Harry Chapin, Carly Simon and Bread.

Follow The Music: The Life & High Times of Elektra Records in the Great Years of American Pop Culture by Elektra Record's founder Jac Holzman and Gavan Daws. This is a great read that recounts a great era in music history and the bands that made it pop...and now it comes with a CD sampler! Online @ www.followthemusic.com

Currently Jac Holzman oversees a new digital label called Cordless Recordings featuring The Residents, Dangerous Muse, SKYE, and Jihad Jerry & the Evildoers.
