All Things Must Pass

Concert For GeorgeIt was five years ago when George Harrison passed away on November 29th, 2001. He was only 58 years old when lung cancer claimed his amazing life. First a Beatle, then a successful solo artist, Harrison was the first to release a triple solo album, "All Things Must Pass." Featuring a stellar lineup of rock and roll royalty, the album was a critical success, with the songs "My Sweet Lord" and "Isn't It A Pity."
The following statement summed it up..."He left this world as he lived in it: conscious of God, fearless of death and at peace, surrounded by family and friends. Harrison had often said, "Everything else can wait, but the search of God cannot wait; and love one another."
The following year, on November 29, exactly one year since Harrison's death, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr joined an all star cast of musicians and artists for a special memorial concert, to honor their dear friend George.

Olivia Harrison and son Dhani were joined by Ravi Shankar and daughter Anoushka, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, Billy Preston, and the show's musical director Eric Clapton, (among many others) at London's Royal Albert Hall for this once-in-a-lifetime Concert For George, that showcased Harrison's music across his career. Proceeds benefited the Material World Charitable Foundation, founded by Harrison in 1973.

God Bless You, George...Thanks for all the wonderful music!
