1971 the band's original line-up was:
Lowell George - guitar - slide - vocals
Bill Payne - keyboards - vocals
Richie Hayward - drums
Roy Estrada - bass
George and Estrada were formerly members of Frank Zappa's Mothers Of Invention.
The band split after Lowell George's untimely death in 1979 and went on to solo and studio projects. Then Little Feat reunited in 1987 with original members Bill Payne and Richie Hayward, along with vocalist and guitarist, Paul Barrère; bassist and vocalist, Kenny Gradney; and percussionist, Sam Clayton; plus two new members guitarist, Fred Tackett and vocalist, Craig Fuller (from Pure Prairie League.)
