John Mayer's Continuum

John Mayer seems to be everywhere lately, and for good reason.

He's got two new projects making waves across the country, plus an almost non-stop tour and guest spots with other major acts.

The John Mayer Trio's first live album "Try!" features eleven tracks from their 2005 tour, spotlighting the awesome rhythm section of drummer Steve Jordan and Pino Palladino on bass.

John Mayer's next album "Continuum" is scheduled for release on September 12th. It's his third studio album that now brings the Grammy winning artist full circle from pop, rock, blues and even soul. It's been two years since his last CD "Heavier Things," and you can sense the maturity in his songwriting.
Mayer said he enjoys getting some one-on-one time with his own songs before anyone gets to hear them. "That's kind of like my freedom,” Mayer said. “It's kind of like the part for me that's really great because you know, when everybody is sharing my music, and that's the goal, is that as many people as possible listen to this music that I make. It's really comforting for me to listen to the stuff that people haven't heard yet. That's mine still. That's like my friend."

Mayer shares production credit with Steve Jordan on the album. "Continuum" features “I Don’t Trust Myself With Loving You,” “Slow Dancing In A Burning Room,” a soulful “I’m Gonna Find Another You," and a blazing cover of Jimi Hendrix’s “Bold As Love.” He reworked his Trio tunes “Vultures” and “Gravity” for the studio with drummer Steve Jordan and Pino Palladino on bass.

A co-headlining tour with Sheryl Crow starts on August 24th; then The John Mayer Trio picks up even more tour dates starting September 6th in San Francisco. Mayer will also open up a few shows for the Rolling Stones and Tom Petty this fall.

Mayer’s first single, “Waiting On The World To Change,” is already on the radio and is available on iTunes. From Aware/Columbia Records.
