Telluride Blues & Brews Festival

“Out of the 90 different countries I've been to, I've never seen anything more beautiful than what you have here.”
- B.B. King, 2004 Telluride Blues & Brews Festival
The 13th Annual Telluride Blues & Brews Festival will take place the weekend of September 15th, 16th and 17th, in beautiful Telluride, Colorado.

The festival features three days of music from world renowned musicians performing live on the famous Telluride Town Park stage, late night jams in the local juke joints, an acoustic blues camp, the free acoustic artist series, blues for breakfast, the Rainbow kids area, and the Grand Tasting on Saturday, from fifty choice microbreweries serving up their handcrafted "cream of the barrel."

This year's artist lineup is spectacular:

Lou Reed - Friday Sept. 15th - this is one of only a handful of shows where Lou Reed will perform in the US this year.

Bobby Rush - Friday Sept. 15th - from Jackson, Mississippi, his new Essential Recordings Volume 1 & 2 CDs are now available.

Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers - Saturday Sept. 16th - his 20th Anniversary deluxe box set just released featuring 4 CDs and bonus DVD.

After the festival ends in Town Park , the music continues at ten pm on Friday and Saturday nights at the “juke joints,” located in various venues in Telluride and Mountain Village . The after hours jam takes place on Saturday night from two to four am in one of the juke joint venues.

The Fais Do Do (pronounced "fay dough dough") takes place on Sunday night at ten pm at the Sheridan Opera House. It's kind of like their "closing party" and tickets are extremely limited.

The Grand Tasting is on Saturday from noon until three pm, right on the festival grounds, so you can still enjoy the live music while sampling beer from fifty microbreweries!

There's also an acoustic blues competition with the top six entries performing in downtown Telluride on Friday of the festival. The winner will be awarded a Gibson guitar, $300 and a main stage performance on Saturday.

The festival typically runs until eight pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Friday gates open at 11:30 am, Saturday at 11:00 am and Sunday at 10:30 am.

Tickets are general admission and usually sell out early, right after they go on sale in March. Since it's a three day festival, there are special ticket options, like single day passes, VIP three day passes, and early bird three day passes. There's several camping options as well, but it typically sells out and fills up early, so plan ahead.
