Trapt
I just found some great music in the strangest place. My desk, my computer, yeah that's right, on my own computer. My kids decided to watch some TV tonight so I put the headphones on and opened up iTunes. As usual, I start iTunes in the "Purchased" folder and check out what my kids (and wife) have been downloading. It's a good way to keep an eye on them and also find new music.
I look, listen and call out each title to find out who downloaded each track. I have 2 girls, 13 and 17. And I am suprised by some of the selections.
- Lights and Sound by Yellowcard - 17 yr old, and maybe a little bit harder edge than normal.
- I'm so sick by Flyleaf - same as the first track
- Temperature by Sean Paul - 13yr old, no suprise, a little risque with a good groove.
- Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd - 13 yr old, woulda thought it was the other kid, but ok.

Waiting by Trapt & Echo by Trapt. I had heard Waiting on the radio, but did not remember to look it up at the time. I really like the sound this band has so I start a little search. As usual I intentionally look at 3rd party sites before going to the Official Trapt site. The first quote I see really gets my attention.
"Their blend of courageous intensity and sweet melodicism suggests a band weaned on equal parts Soundgarden and Pink Floyd, Korn and Metallica," critic Bob Gulla wrote in Guitar OneWow, cmon now. That's a wide range of sounds.....and a very accurate quote. Check out the Official Trapt website. Not since the first time I heard 3 Doors Down have I been so impressed with a new band. They have the ability to go from commercial pop driven rock to a harder edged sound. They have certainly got my attention. And a really cool website too!
